What is Youth Musical Arts Academy of North Port

The Youth Musical Arts Academy of North Port is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing music education to North Port youth through partnerships with local public and private music teachers and creating youth ensembles to enhance their programs.

ARe you a 501(c)3

Yes, the Youth Musical Arts Academy of North Port is an IRS designated 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. 

What is the cost to participate

Our goal is to make participation in ensembles as accessible as possible to our North Port students. More information will be available in August or September of 2024.

What is the Practice / Performance schedule like

Our after-school programs have working families in mind and we plan to have nightly rehearsals at least two times a week. More information will be available in August or September of 2024.

Do you offer anything for younger students K-2

We have plans to start programs for K-2 students sometime within the next five years depending on teacher availability, facilities, and resources. 

Do you offer summer programs

Our goal is to begin our first summer programs in the summer of 2025.

Do you offer private lessons

Our goal is to provide a team experience through ensembles. However, we do encourage students to study privately and will gladly provide information on local private teachers.

Do you teach piano, guitar, or drum set

We do not offer lessons on piano, guitar, or drum set.

What instruments can students learn

Students can learn a variety of orchestral and band instruments including:

  • Violin

  • Viola

  • Cello

  • Flute

  • Clarinet

  • Saxophone

  • Trumpet

  • Trombone

  • Baritone

  • Percussion

Do you provide the instruments

Our goal is to be able to provide instruments in the future. Until then, students will need to rent their instruments from our music store partner.
